TIDTAYA SINUTOKE (ฑิตยา สินุธก)is an award-winning Thai musical theatre composer and writer based in New York City. Her music and writing reflect a lifelong multicultural journey and celebrate Asian/-American women stories by combining contemporary musical theatre sound with traditional world music tonality and interweaving bilingual languages in the storytelling.
Tidtaya was awarded the 2017 Jonathan Larson® Grant, the 2020 Weston-Ghostlight New Musical Award, the 2020 Billie Burke Ziegfeld Award, the 2021 International Theatermakers Award, and the 2021 Fred Ebb Award. In addition, she is a recipient of the 5th Avenue Theatre's 2018-2019 First Draft Commission, the American Opera Projects' 2021-2023 Composers & the Voice, the New Victory Theater's 2023-2024 LabWorks Artists, MOCA's 2024-2025 Performing Artist-in-Residence, the 2024 McKnight Visiting Composer Residency, the 2023-2025 Jerome Hill Artist Fellowship, the 2025 Filament Theatre's SPARK Artist Residency, the 2026 Pipeline Theatre's PlayLab, and the 2026 Maybank Foundation Artist Fellowship.
Her works have been developed and supported by the Composer-Librettist Studio at New Dramatists, Yale Institute for Music Theatre, Johnny Mercer Foundation, Kilroy's Honorable Mentions, Robert Rauschenberg Residency, EtM Con Edison Composer-in-Residence, the Kurt Weill Foundation, Drama League and Rhinebeck Writers Retreat.
A proud member of Siamese Collective, ASCAP, the Dramatists Guild, Maestra, MUSE, and Thai Theatre Foundation. BM from Berklee College of Music; MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
